Hydroflux Utilities Leverages the Hydroflux Groups Equipment Expertise

A recent successful project by Hydroflux Utilities demonstrated just how important it is to have some of the best water and wastewater equipment professionals in Australia available “on tap”.

The plant – a major Grease Trap Receival Depot in Western Sydney treating in excess of 100kL daily of highly concentrated Grease Trap waste collected by suction tankers from around Sydney.

The project – to improve the discharge quality, benchmark the chemical program and evaluate sludge reduction programs to improve the overall costs of operations.

The result – “we arrived expecting to start benchmarking the chemical program, but much to our surprise it became quickly apparent that the DAF system installed over 3 years ago by a local company was not operating correctly and indeed by all reports had never generated any real dissolved air, which is critical for the floatation process to work. This was despite many apparent past modifications” said Bruce Willis of Hydroflux Utilities.

Hydroflux Utilities immediately contacted their sister company Hydroflux Industrial who’s Senior Engineers have designed built and commissioned several hundred DAF systems over the last 30 years. After only 3 days on site the Hydroflux Team were able to reset the design specifications of the DAF and the unit was, for the first time, fully operational, with the Site Engineer commenting he “has not seen his DAF work that well in the three years he has been there”.

This allows for the first time, a professional benchmark of the chemical program and evaluation of a sludge reduction program. In addition the client’s operating personnel are able to be comprehensively trained on fault finding in the DAF circuit to insure stable future operation.

The Hydroflux Groups senior members have over 200 years of local specific water and wastewater expertise that can be leveraged rapidly, to fix virtually any water or wastewater chemistry or equipment issues.
